OUR BELIEFS

We believe the best way to know Jesus and please Him is to follow God’s inspired word, the Bible. We have joined with others who love Jesus and seek to obey Him. We are a nondenominational Christian body. We realize we are not the only Christians, but we desire to be Christians only. We list our beliefs not as a creed to judge one’s salvation or faith, but to identify some of the fundamental beliefs that unite this congregation. |

WE BELIEVE GOD is the Creator and Sustainer of all. |

WE BELIEVE JESUS is divine Son of God, who took on human flesh and lived among us. He was born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and did miraculous deeds. Jesus was crucified for our sin, died, was buried and rose on the third day. He ascended to heaven and someday will return to take us home. |

WE BELIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT dwells in each believer. The Holy Spirit guides, equips and empowers us to live boldly for Jesus. |

WE BELIEVE THE BIBLE is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative for all we believe and do. Where scripture is silent, we believe each believer is free to follow his or her conscience as guided by the Holy Spirit. |

WE BELIEVE THE CHURCH consists of all Christians of all times and places. We also believe Christians should identify with a local congregation for support, encouragement and service. We believe God has given local churches spiritual leaders (elders and deacons) to guide and serve them. |

WE BELIEVE CHRIST GAVE TWO ORDINANCES to the church: the Lord’s Supper and baptism. Christ invites all Christians to commune with Him and so we welcome all believers to share in the Lord’s Supper. When a person acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior, he or she should be baptized. We believe in water baptism by immersion. |

WE BELIEVE EACH PERSON has been created in the image of God. We acknowledge that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. God in His infinite love has provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him. |

WE BELIEVE CHRISTIANS are called to live Christ like lives. We believe that God calls us to grow towards maturity in Jesus. We believe we are called to use our gifts and abilities to spread the gospel and to serve others. |
