and OTHERS SERVING OUR CONGREGATION
John Kester is our Pastor

John Kester began serving our congregation in July 2009. He grew up on northern Wisconsin and graduated from Minnesota Bible College (now Crossroads College) in Rochester, MN.
John ministered with the Church of Christ in Pleasant Grove, Minnesota, for 20 years before coming to Cleveland. John's family includes his wife Cheryl (nee Potter) and daughters Olivia and Jade and son Ashten.
Our Leaders, the Elders

Elders are men elected at our annual meeting to serve our congregation in the capacity of spiritual leadership. They are elected for three year terms. They are the highest authority group in our congregation; coming under the headship of Jesus Christ.
The Greek word for “Elder” simply means “old man.” It has the context of one who is seasoned with age and wisdom grown with time. The Bible tells us about the role of an Elder in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. We ask that in his own life, an Elder works toward the character qualifications listed in those scripture texts. We also ask that an Elder of our congregation be committed to fulfilling, or working on fulfilling, 7 responsibilities and functions. A list of those 7 is available at Regular Events & Meetings.
Our current elders pictured left to right are Dan Christensen, Graydon Dickie, Gary Kunz, Sherm Rupe and Wayne Fahning.
Our Leaders, the Deacons

Deacons are men elected at our annual meeting to serve our congregation in the general capacity of making decisions as to the general functioning of our congregation. They are elected for three year terms. They, along with our pastor, elders, and trustees, meet as our “Church Board” both monthly and as special needs arise. We ask that a Deacon of our congregation be committed to fulfilling, or working on fulfilling, 6 responsibilities and functions. A list of those 6 can be found at Regular Events & Meetings.
Our current deacons pictured left to right are Orbbe Chadderdon, Lance Fahning, Ken Krenik, Mel Lloyd, Russ Lloyd and Brian Schmidt.
Our Leaders, the Trustees

Trustees are persons elected at our annual meeting to serve our congregation in necessary legal business transactions for the congregation as a whole. They are elected for three year terms.
Our current trustees pictured left to right are Orbbe Chadderdon, Dan Christensen and Graydon Dickie.
A few others you may see serving . . .

We say “few” because many more people of our church family do SO MANY things in service to our LORD. These pictures represent only a few who are serving.
