2005 February 13 – Second congregational service in the building – Several people of our congregation gathered formally in the new building to write their favorite Bible verses on the concrete floors. The verses were a visible reminder to us that God’s Church is held firm by the foundation found in His Word, the Bible. This building was God’s building, not ours. Until the carpet was laid in May 2005, more and more people came to write verses. 115 verses were recorded as being written through out the building on the concrete floor and stage sub flooring. During the morning Friend Day worship service we had 500 attend! It was incredible! About 400 stayed for our noon meal. 300 attended the Dedication Service. Considering our sanctuary proper seats about 200 persons (when packed in), we were so grateful for the instant overflow space into the fellowship hall. During the morning worship service, people were seated clear back to the west windows of the fellowship hall, with some in the kitchen and nursery besides.
