OUR STAINED GLASS

In our sanctuary are 3 stained glass windows which were designed and crafted by Karen Luce. By trade, Karen is a PhD licensed counselor. By interest, she a stained glass artist. When Karen made the windows, she and her husband Bill lived in Rochester, MN. Our minister, David Kester, knew Karen did stain glass work. David called her up and asked if she had any interest in doing stain glass for our new building. She agreed and came to Cleveland one day in January 2005 and sat and prayed in our empty shell of a sanctuary. God spoke to her heart and she designed what we have today.

Read below to learn what Karen says the windows mean. Below that is a picture gallery of the making of the windows in 2005.

WHAT DO
THE THREE
STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
MEAN?
.
.
The three windows depict
the return of Christ in His glory & radiance
and the process involving His people,
their redemption, and their final eternal glory.
.
.
THE COMPONENTS

The CENTER CIRCLE represents
Jesus Christ in His radiant brightness.

The TWO SIDE WINDOWS represent
the earth and mankind.
The bottom dark colored glass represents humanness
and the density / heaviness of the earth.

The windows’ glass JEWELS represent
people who are in all sizes, shapes, and colors,
and in different stages of life and growth.
.
.
THE PROCESS
From the center circle, we "see" Jesus Christ, God’s Glory,
come down to mankind (into the two side windows)
through the clouds. In the clouds, we “see” people
(represented by the jewels) in process of being
turned into glorious forms when united with Jesus Christ.
.
.
THE SUMMATION

The Believers hope is in Jesus Christ,
who has come down to us,
to redeem us from the weight
of our sin-stained, darkened lives.
The windows depict the ongoing process of Believers
being transformed in Christ’s Glory, as we “see” them
rise into the clouds and meet Jesus Christ there.

These are windows of HOPE and JOY!
